Purpose

… one’s intention

Today is three months of blogging daily. Over 100 posts on the blog since the beginning of the year. I’m going to think about the purpose for this blog. What are my hopes and dreams for this platform. I’m very proud of my daily commitment. Now … what is the purpose?

Process

Action

… just do it!

I MUST do the action. A painting doesn’t get painted by just thinking about it. I have to put wet paint to canvas to get any tangible results. Thinking, planning, mulling over all have there place, then I need action!

Guidance

… from books!

I have a great library of technique books. Often I just bang my head against the wall trying to think of something/someway to paint. Grasping for my visual vocabulary. I need to pull out my books more often. That might be my summer “intention” – Look at more books, try new things from them!

Process

Prune

… or deadhead the spent flowers.

I need to remember to get rid of what doesn’t serve me any longer so I have time/energy for what does matter. When I deadhead my geraniums it takes work to get rid of the faded blossoms. Then I’m gifted with many new, fresh flowers. It’s worth the work.
